Hello fellow traveler, The Rooted and the Winged is 9 days away from its official release date, July 1st! While researching Amazon categories today and double-checking my book files, I realized... I'm living a life that I had dreamed of desperately for so many years. Between the Kickstarter and the preorders that have come in so far, I've already sold over 350 books. Starting next month, I'll be shipping out copies to readers all across the world, from local readers to readers in the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, and more. I keep thinking of all of you, and the kinds of places where my book will be held and read. I am so grateful for your support, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Also, if you take it to a forest near you, I would love to see a picture. 💚 The story was born from the woods. I recently returned to the forest where I first got the idea for my dryads that walk and root into the earth—the very first seed of the world—with a copy of the special edition, and held it under the dappled light. It was finally home. If you'd like to preorder the special edition hardcover, you can do so now on my new website. I'm working with my site developer to get the signed paperback and other fairy goodies up on my shop soon, so you can look forward to that! Release TimelineWide release date: July 1st The Rooted and the Winged will be available as an ebook, paperback, and audiobook* on Amazon. Kickstarter Orders: If you backed my book on Kickstarter, your order will ship late July-early August. Digital rewards will be arriving this week! The Keeper of the Forest: July 1st Also, since I wrote to you last, I wrote and illustrated a whole new short story set in the world of The Rooted and the Winged! It's a story of learning to overcome grief. The ebook releases on Amazon, Google Books, and Kobo on July 1st. Here's the featured illustration: That's Isolde, our protagonist, side-eyeing her younger brother Fafnir. Maybe because he ghosted her for over 1000 years... Kickstarter goodies are coming in! Here's a little taste. This is the foldable map, one of the hand-painted butterflies, and the booklet of "The Naive King". This is the very first time The Naive King is appearing in print—it turned out so pretty and I can't wait to get one to you if you got a physical order! It's been an amazing journey, and we are only just beginning. <3 Ideas for the sequel to The Rooted and the Winged have been spiraling in my head. I've been very busy with the launch but I can't wait until I have the time to dig in and lose myself in this next story. It's going to be wild. I'll be back in touch for release day.
