Happy Earth Day! 🌱 Today is the day!!

At 10am EST, the early release Kickstarter for The Rooted and the Winged will go live at this link. And you can finally buy a copy of the book! I am also planting a tree with every order through the non-profit One Tree Planted, so I am SO excited to see how many little Rootlings like Aisling here we can plant in the earth together. <3

Also, if you're over on Instagram, I am hosting two live events today to celebrate the book's release! The first one is a live reading with the audiobook narrators of The Rooted and the Winged, Stephanie Healy and Josef Boon at 2pm EST. If you are one of my ARC readers and you have your ebook pulled up, we're saving a time at the end where you'll be able to request any part you'd like read - up to Chapter 8 so we don't reveal any major spoilers. I'm so excited!!

Later at 6pm EST, there will be a second live with Sam from Samuel Haines Music, the artist behind The Rooted and the Winged's theme song. He will be breaking down his journey of transforming the story and characters of the book into musical elements, and arranging them with care and precision into a beautiful piece of music. If you are a musician or music lover you will want to be there!

I wanted to give an important update on the Kickstarter. Because shipping prices are under such flux right now, I will be charging shipping AFTER the Kickstarter ends through Pledgebox. You will receive a survey that will take shipping fees as well as any VAT/customs/other international fees. If you want an estimate of your shipping cost beforehand, please ask me and I'll calculate a quote for you!

Stephanie Healy is an Irish singer with a deep love for Celtic music, film scores, and all things atmospheric and eerie. This audiobook is her first adventure into voice acting and narration, a new and exciting chapter in her creative journey.

She has worked on a variety of creative projects over the years, with the most recent being the Scottish feature film Betrayal, directed by Rodger Griffiths, for which she recorded a song and music video.

When she’s not singing at weddings or getting lost in magical soundscapes, she’s probably hanging out with dogs, thinking about her next meal, or making something messy and artsy just for the fun of it.

Josef Boon is a Scottish actor and director who has provided voices for multiple characters across the gaming landscape. Notably, he voices Leo Fitz and Iceman for Marvel Move, Roland in Scottish indie game Aethus, and various characters in highly acclaimed fan-created mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

Outwith the performing arts, Josef is an avid fan of film, video games (which he swears he plays for “research purposes only”), and fantasy and folklore literature. You can usually find him behind a DM screen in his local hobby store, bringing bright-eyed new players into the world Dungeons & Dragons.

Sam Haines is a composer/performer of instrumental music and creative ensembles in Bucks County, PA. His musical vision is one that includes elements of music from all around the world and all through history. His approach to composition is to always convey a mood and tell just enough of a story to create a world in which his audiences can find inspiration and be uplifted.

Sam has worked closely with many musicians in numerous ensembles. As a lover of Jazz, Sam has performed on stand up bass with the jazz combo “Jazz With Friends“, the Montgomery County Jazz Big Band, the Doylestown Heat Big Band, the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra.
